Do you know everything your iPhone can do? Then, it’s time to find out! Some things may amaze you, while others are useful to know.
Text Effects
Congratulate someone with confetti splashing across their screen. But that’s just one of the effects within the Messages app that you’ll get when you write ‘congrats.’ In addition, you can animate messages on the iPhone in different ways. For example, you can create the bubble effect so that the message pops up as a message bubble.
Use Siri to Send Photos
Go to any photo on your Photos application and say Hey, Siri! Send this photo to X! and viola! The image is sent.
You can even add captions to these pictures before sending them.
Activate Apple Card
If your device is compatible with Apple Pay, you will get an Apple Card.
Do you wonder how to activate Apple Card? First, open the card’s packaging and then follow the steps. Alternatively, you can go to Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay > Add Card > Apply for Apple Card and then follow the instructions.
Then, you can make payments with this card.
Drag-and-drop images/texts Across Applications
It is the most underused iOS feature but can streamline your tasks.
- Photos app – Drag photos from the Photos app and drop them in Notes, Messages, Files, and other third-party applications. So you don’t have to copy and paste them anymore.
- Messages – Want to send the same message to someone else? Tap and hold the message with a finger and hold it tight. Then, use another finger and find the contact you want to send it to. Drop the text in that SMS space and then send it.
- Safari – If you like any image on the Internet and want to save it or send it, drag and drop the image across applications.
Charge Faster
The Airplane mode is not only for when you are traveling in an airplane. You can use this feature when charging your phone and want your device to charge faster.
Activating this mode means all the background programs and apps will be disabled.
Silence Unknown Callers
Have the spam calls gotten out of hand? It can be highly annoying to keep getting spam calls. But unfortunately, these calls appear to come from legitimate phone numbers.
Go to Settings > Phone and tap the Silence Unknown Callers option. With this turned on, phones from unknown numbers will be blocked, but they will come through silently. There won’t be any vibration or ringtone, and the call will go straight to voicemail.
The drawback of this function is that all the unknown calls will be sent to voicemail unless you have called or been contacted by the caller.
Back Tap Shortcut
Go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Back Tap. Thanks to this handy feature, you can set a shortcut to perform specific actions. In addition, you can select the actions to be performed in double or triple taps.
Live Text
Live Text is regarded as one of the best features of iOS 15. You must open the Camera application and point it at anything with text. You will find a yellow bracketed box with a small yellow button, tap this button, and the text area will be frozen. Tap and hold the text area, swipe your finger to copy, loop up a definition, translate, etc.
Live Text feature works in the Photos application. You will see brackets with lines in the lower right if a picture has text. Then, tap that, and the text in the image will be highlighted. You can select the text to share, translate, etc.
Quickly Scan Documents
iPhones come with a good document scanner. Lay the document you wish to scan and decide if you want to create a PDF document or attach the document to the Notes application.
Open Files to make a new file, and then open the folder to which you wish to save the scan. Select the menu button and choose Scan document. Ensure to hold the camera steadily.
Your phone will take a picture automatically, and then you can clean it up or minimize it into the corner. If there are more pages to scan, repeat the process. Then, tap Save.
Open the Notes application and then open the note and attach a scanned document. Then, tap the camera button and tap Scan Documents.
Moreover, you can sign documents digitally. Open the scanned PDF in Files and tap the little markup button and tap the plus icon. Choose Signature, and you can remove or add signatures or select a previous signature to place on the PDF document.
The Bottom Line
iPhones are optimized smartphones that can change your life for the better. Knowing these tricks, as mentioned above and tips, you can explore all your phone can do.
